Two calculators in one

Days between dates

Pick a start and end date to get the total number of days, the same span in years, months and days, full weeks, working days and weekend days. The order of the dates does not matter.

Add or subtract

Pick a date and add or subtract any combination of years, months and days. This is handy for deadlines, notice periods, warranty expiry, due dates and “90 days from today” questions.

Common uses

  • Notice period: find your last working day after a 30, 60 or 90-day notice.
  • Visa and travel: count the days you can stay or have stayed.
  • Pregnancy and health: count weeks from a given date.
  • Projects and billing: count working days in a sprint or billing cycle.
  • Countdowns: days left until a wedding, exam or holiday.

How the count works

The calculator uses calendar dates only, so time zones and daylight-saving changes never add or lose a day. Month lengths and leap years are taken into account automatically.

Frequently asked questions

How do I count the days between two dates?
Choose “Days between dates”, enter a start and end date, and the calculator shows the total number of days, the same span in years, months and days, and the number of working days.
Should I include the end date?
By default the calculator counts the days from the start date up to, but not including, the end date, the usual convention for durations. Tick “Include the end date” when both days count, such as for a leave or hotel booking that covers both days.
How are working days calculated?
Working days are Monday to Friday. Saturdays and Sundays are excluded. Public holidays vary by state and organisation, so they are not removed automatically.
What date is 90 days from today?
Switch to “Add / subtract”, keep today as the start date, enter 90 in Days and choose Add. The resulting date and weekday appear instantly.
What happens when I add a month to 31 January?
Months have different lengths, so adding one month to 31 January gives the last day of February (28 or 29 February) rather than spilling into March.
